Same prompts, same models, same number of repetitions each cycle. Consistency is the whole point. Change the method and you can't tell whether a number moved because your visibility moved or because the test did.

Then we flag what actually changed

Model answers vary run to run, so small swings are noise. We report movement that clears the variance and ignore the rest. A mention rate going from 14% to 16% usually means nothing. Going from 14% to 31% means something happened.

Finally, we tell you why

A new competitor entering the answers, a source that started citing you, a page that got picked up, a model update that reshuffled everything. The number alone isn't useful without the cause, and the cause is what tells you what to do next.

What is AI search tracking?

AI search tracking is recurring measurement of how often large language models mention your brand when answering prompts in your category. It runs the same prompt set across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity on a fixed schedule and reports mention rate, share of voice, and citation sources over time, so you can see whether your visibility is improving.

How is this different from the AI visibility audit?

The audit is a one-time baseline: where you stand today and what's causing the gaps. Tracking is that same measurement repeated on a schedule. The audit tells you where you are. Tracking tells you whether you're moving. Most clients start with the audit and move to tracking once work is underway.

How often do you run it?

Monthly by default. Weekly is possible for fast-moving categories or during an active optimization push, but monthly is usually the right cadence. Model answers don't shift fast enough for weekly reporting to show much beyond noise.

How do you separate a real change from random variation?

By running each prompt multiple times per model and reporting a rate, not a single result. Any two runs of the same prompt can return different brands. Across enough repetitions a stable rate emerges, and we only flag movement large enough to clear the normal spread.

What happens when a model updates and everything changes?

It happens, and it's one of the more useful things tracking catches. A model update can reshuffle which brands get named across an entire category overnight. If you're only measuring once, you'd read that as your own performance changing. Tracking across four models makes it obvious when a shift is platform-wide rather than specific to you.

Can you track my competitors too?

Yes, and it's part of the standard report. Share of voice is only meaningful against named competitors, so we track the three to five brands the models reach for most in your category, and flag when a new one starts appearing.

Do I need tracking if I'm not doing any other work?

Probably not. Tracking measures change, and if nothing is changing there's little to report. It's most useful alongside active content, technical, or offsite work, where it tells you which efforts are actually moving the number.
